I’ve been spending some time, digging through my SEVENTY2 Pro Survival System from Uncharted Supply Co, and have been genuinely impressed by the contents and also the design of the backpack container itself.
The SEVENTY2 Pro Survival System is a prepackaged kit designed by emergency responders and medical professionals to support at least two people through a 72-hour emergency – a situation you hope never comes but want to be prepared for.
Priced at $599 from unchartedsupplyco.com, this kit is packed with over 60 professional-grade tools and features a 36-liter, waterproof backpack, that’s so much better than I was anticipating, and built to handle harsh environments.
In this review, I’ll walk you through my experience with the system so far, highlighting its thoughtful design and pointing out a few areas where it could potentially be improved, but overall I have been impressed from the outset – let’s go!

How the pack fits and feels with the weight of the contents
When I first put the backpack kit on, I was pleasantly surprised by how well it distributes the weight of the contents (all 16lbs of it) across your back and shoulders.
The padded straps and overall design make it feel a lot lighter than it actually is, and really the comfort level is something that immediately stood out to me.
Comfort is crucial when you may have to carry this gear over long distances or through rough terrain depending on the emergency (which hopefully never comes!).
Thoughtful gear selection
One of the first things I noticed was how carefully each item seems to have been chosen.
For example, the insulated, waterproof gloves and antifog eyewear are exactly the kind of gear I’d opt for in challenging conditions.
The Empire Knife, has a good amount of heft to it, to be able to put plenty of force behind it when cutting, and it’s also very sharp, so I recommend keeping the tip protector on there for safety and to stop you from accidentally blunting it.
The knife’s performance makes it clear that quality wasn’t sacrificed in its design, and yes, even though this knife and much of the gear included in this kit, is made in China, it is still of high quality.
Although this survival system is of course designed for survival situations, it can also be taken with you on your camping trips, as an emergency pack, should you need it.
Just remember to restock anything you use, so that it’s ready for any future emergency situations.
Organization & design
The interior organization is a definite win because it makes finding the essentials, a very fast task.
The kit comes with clear labels and even a printed inventory list on the bag (see photo below), which makes it easy to keep track of everything.
I appreciate knowing exactly what is in the bag at all times, and the compartmentalization means that every tool has its dedicated space, making it easy to pack up quickly.
This not only helps in quickly locating an item when needed but also gives a sense of reassurance that the kit is built for efficiency, should the time come, that requires it.
Comfort & build quality
The build quality of the SEVENTY2 Pro Survival System is very solid; do I wish there were less items with ‘Made In China’ stickers stuck on them? Yes. Does it affect build quality and functionality, in the case of the items built there? Absolutely not.
And actually the kit I’m sure would probably cost a lot more money, if the items were made in the USA – or maybe not with the new tarrifs incoming.
I especially like the dry bag, which as the name suggests, means it’s 100% waterproof.
It will hold up well against the elements and will even feel buoyant when in a body of water.
The overall design of the shoulder straps and breathable, padded backing ensures that the weight is evenly distributed, making the bag feel light and comfortable on your back.
However, I did feel that the pack straps could benefit from some refinement to reduce the amount of flappage / excess strapping.
Customization & flexibility
Another aspect that stood out was the flexibility of the system, incase you feel like swapping out a few items, upgrading the gloves and adding a headlamp for example, which I think should really be in there.
With that said, maybe an option to be able to switch out items of gear or include other items could be a cool option for Uncharted Supply Co in the future.
So, it’s great to know that you’re not locked into the factory setup and can tailor the kit to your preferences if you already have some gear.
I also think there could be a bit more space for extras like additional medications or clothing, which would further boost the kit’s versatility.
There is space, however, in the pack to just throw them in on top of the pack insert which contains all the survival gear – that insert pack (pictured below) has its own shoulder straps too, which is a nice touch.
My verdict
The SEVENTY2 Pro Survival System is a very well-considered and practical option for anyone looking to prepare for emergencies – which lately, I am increasingly feeling is becoming more and more important, and if you’re reading this, you likely are too.
It’s clear that a lot of thought went into both the selection of gear and the organization of the kit and while there are a few areas that could use some refinement, the overall performance and flexibility of the system make it a reliable choice.
If you’re looking for a comprehensive emergency survival kit, that’s built to last and can be tailored to your needs should you wish, the SEVENTY2 Pro gets my stamp of approval, and is definitely worth considering.
👋🏼 I hope this review gives you a clear picture of what to expect from the SEVENTY2 Pro Survival System but if you still have questions, just ask me in the comments below. See you on the next review! -Alastair
