Fit and feel
First impressions matter, and the Scott Ultra Carbon RC doesn’t disappoint in this respect. Out of the box, they feel snug and true to size. The medium width is perfect for most runners with average feet.
Initially, the area around the ankles feels quite firm, but after a few kilometers, they begin to mold to your feet, offering a balance between firmness and comfort. The cushioning, while firm, is adequate, providing a responsive race-like feel without sacrificing comfort.

On flatter trails and rolling hills, the Scott Ultra Carbon RC truly shines and this is really what they’re best for because above all else, these shoes are built for speed.
The carbon plate delivers an impressive energy return, making each stride feel effortless. On fire roads and gravel, the shoes maintain a stable ride, thanks to their well-thought-out design – they are firm yet flexible, striking a balance that many trail runners will appreciate.
Technical trails
Technical trails are where the true test lies in a pair of all mountain running shoes, and the Scott Ultra Carbon RC handles roots, rocks, and uneven terrain very well.

In a word, yes. The Scott Ultra Carbon RC trail running shoes are a solid investment for serious trail runners and racers.
