You’re probably already familiar with Brooks as a running shoe brand – after all, they make some of the best, most reliable running shoes for roads and trails (but if you’re not, read our Best Brooks Running Shoes roundup!).
You may not be aware, though, that they also sell some great men’s and women’s running apparel, and so in this Brooks running apparel review, I’m going to be covering a selection of Brooks’ women’s running clothes, as well as their running-appropriate sports bras.
Overview of Brooks women’s running apparel
The number one essential item of clothing to get right, for most female runners, is getting a suitable running sports bra that provides a comfortable, chafe-free and jiggle-resistant fit.
Regardless of your size, you’re going to want to keep everything in place and comfortable while you run, and Brooks has been a long-time personal favorite brand when it comes to well-designed sports bras for running.
They also sell different styles of running tops, running shorts of varying lengths depending on your height and personal preference, running tights and other accessories you may want on the run – you can check out the entire range on the Brooks women’s running apparel homepage.

Crossback 2.0 Sports Bra

The Brooks Crossback 2.0 sports bra has been a longtime personal favorite sports bra for running, and ranks highly on our best running bras roundup for that reason.
It’s super soft, with just the right amount of stretch, minimal seams, enough support to hold you in place as you run, without a monoboob effect, plus, it’s easy to get on and off (it pulls on over your head, with no clasps or snaps) – even if you’re hot and sweaty! Chaser 5 Inch Shorts

The Brooks Chaser 5 inch shorts are long enough for a flattering, comfortable fit, that doesn’t ride up between your thighs.
These shorts have a built-in liner, so there’s no need to wear underwear with them, and feature other essential details such as a wide, soft, adjustable waistband, a stretchy rear pocket for your phone, and they’re made with lightweight, quick-drying fabric.
You can also find these shorts in 3 inch and 7 inch lengths, as well as a version with a longer inner layer, if you prefer the dual-shorts look as opposed to the brief liner. All these features make these shorts some of the best women’s running shorts around!
Running Luxe Tank Top

- Color options: Varies, currently black, light grey, turquoise and heathered blue
The Brooks Running Luxe Tank is a soft, comfortable running top that you don’t really notice you’re even wearing (and that’s a good thing). Even in the light colorway (like I am wearing in the photos throughout this review), it’s not see-through like other, cheaper and thinner running tops can be when in white and light grey.
Like the Chaser shorts, the Luxe top is quick-drying, lightweight and breathable – all essential features that any good item of running clothing should possess.
