The Anker MagGo Power Bank is a sleek and compact portable battery that offers a lot more than your average power bank. As someone who relies heavily on their devices while traveling, this power bank has quickly become one of my go-tos for keeping my gadgets charged on the go.
On a recent trip to England (my motherland), the MagGo Power Bank exceeded all my expectations, delivering ultra-fast charging for my iPhone and other devices while being small enough to fit in my pocket while visiting friends and family.
If you’re like me and looking for a means to charge your phone and earbuds, that goes beyond cheap, single-charge power banks that barely keep your phone alive for a day, then read on. I’m sharing my experience with Anker’s MagGo Power Bank to help you decide if this is the right power companion for you.

The features that make it special
One of the most standout features of the Anker MagGo Power Bank is its 15W ultra-fast magnetic charging. This speed means I can charge my iPhone 15 Pro from 0 to 50% in around 44 minutes. It’s quite the game-changer when you’re on the move and need a quick power boost. The Qi2 certification guarantees that this power bank not only charges fast but also securely, ensuring your devices are protected.
The 10,000 mAh capacity is more than enough for most short trips, providing about 1.8 charges for an iPhone 15 Pro. For me, that translates to an entire day of full use, with enough battery left over to charge my AirPods or other smaller devices like my Garmin Forerunner 965 running watch.
The informative smart display (see photo above) is a great addition; It shows battery percentage, charging status, and even the estimated time to full recharge, which is incredibly handy.
I sometimes find myself frequently checking it to make sure I’m maximizing my charging time and efficiency – yes, nerd alert indeed!
Another feature I love is the built-in stand; This power bank is not just about charging; it’s also practical for hands-free viewing of your favorite tv shows or video podcasts.
When I’m on a flight or writing content at my local coffee shop, I can prop up my phone and continue using it without worrying about draining the battery.
Why it works so well for my lifestyle
As someone who’s always traveling, whether for work or pleasure or both (running events), I need a reliable power bank that can keep up with my lifestyle. The Anker MagGo Power Bank delivers just that.
Its compact size makes it easy to carry around, and at just 8.82 oz, it’s lightweight enough to throw in a pocket or a small bag.
The bi-directional USB-C charging feature allows me to charge both my power bank and my cellphone simultaneously (see photo below).
This is particularly useful when I’m at an airport or a coffee shop with limited power outlets. I can quickly power up both my phone and the MagGo Power Bank without having to wait.
Durability and design
The Anker MagGo Power Bank looks great but also feels robust and durable; the smooth, matte finish gives it a premium feel, and it fits comfortably in the hand. While I haven’t accidentally dropped it (yet!), it’s for sure sturdy enough to withstand the occasional bumps and tumbles it has taken.
The MagSafe compatibility is another plus! Even with a magnetic case, my iPhone charges seamlessly. It’s a relief not to have to remove my case every time I need a charge. However, it’s worth noting that it doesn’t work with non-magnetic cases, so keep that in mind if you don’t use MagSafe-compatible accessories.
Day to day performance
With its 10,000 mAh capacity, the MagGo Power Bank is perfect for day trips or even a short weekend getaway. I’ve been able to charge my iPhone multiple times and still have some juice left over.
For longer trips or when I’m away from power outlets for an extended period (like camping out), it pairs well with a higher-capacity power station, like the Biolite BaseCharge 1500+ (my current favorite high-capacity portable power station, reviewed here, and pictured below).
The charging speed, both for the power bank and the device, is impressive too. I particularly appreciate the 27W USB-C fast charging that allows my iPhone to reach 60% in just 30 minutes. This feature has saved me on numerous occasions when I needed a quick top-up before heading out.
Cost and where to buy
Overall, the Anker MagGo Power Bank is a fantastic choice for anyone looking for a reliable, fast-charging, and compact power solution. At $90, it offers great value for its features, from the 15W wireless charging and smart display to the lightweight design. Whether you’re a frequent traveler or just need a solid backup for your daily commute, this power bank has got you covered.
For me, the MagGo Power Bank is a true peace of mind, knowing I’ll always have power when I need it because all though mobile phone battery capacities are improving every year, they also draw more power to keep up with computing requirements.
It’s a small yet mighty addition to my tech arsenal, and I’ll definitely be bringing it along on all my future adventures. I also keep my Biolite Charge 100 Max Power Bank with me when travelling as it has a higher capacity but it’s a touch too big for certain scenarios.
