When race day calls, you want gear that won’t let you down—starting from the ground up. The new Race Day Crew Socks from QEJA (pronounced kay-jah) are designed with the kind of attention to detail you’d expect from a brand rooted in cycling tradition.

Although you can use these socks for running too, I recommend keeping them for your two wheeled endeavors, instead.

Built for speed, and the planet

What sets these socks apart is their material. Each pair is made from Q-CYCLE®, a recycled nylon spun from end-of-life car and bike tires, making them very eco-conscious.

The fabric is also OEKO-TEX® Standard 100 certified, anti-microbial, and quick-drying, with silver ion-infused fibers to fight ‘stinky sock’ odor and bacteria.

That sustainable focus carries through the entire brand, female-founded QEJA partners with a family-run factory in Northern Italy, known for its craftsmanship and deep roots in performance cycling.

Comfort that holds its form

QEJA’s Race Day Socks feature a mostly seamless, low-friction construction made with a 93% Q-CYCLE® and 7% elastane blend that helps reduce the risk of hot spots and blisters.

The anatomical fit—including a left/right-specific toe box—hugs the foot just right, while the ideal compression keeps them in place during hard efforts without feeling restrictive.

Lightweight and breathable, these socks are tailored for riders clipping into a Peloton or hitting the road for long miles, but they’re not the best option for serious runners.

“But, why?”, you ask? Well, its down to a lack of running oriented features that make a great running sock, well—great!

Features like cushioned/padded heel and forefoot landing zones, zoned venting/breathability, compression and structure in the arch, and a mechanism to stop bunching of fabric where the front of your foot bends from your leg – see images below describing these shortcomings for runners.

But that’s okay, most of those features aren’t missed in a cycling sock.

The Race Day sock is available in black or white, the style is clean and understated, which is an aesthetic that matches their quiet confidence on the start line.

Some riders, however, will likely prefer something with a little more flare and branding on them.
